2. Information we may collect
Depending on how you interact with us or a business using our services, we may process:
- Identity and contact details, such as a name, phone number and email address.
- WhatsApp messages, interactions and service-request information you choose to provide.
- Booking, enquiry, support and customer-relationship records.
- Consent, subscription and opt-out records, including the time and source of a choice.
- Technical information needed to operate, secure and improve our services.
We may receive this information directly from you, from a business you are dealing with, or from the communications and technology providers used to deliver the service. Where information comes from elsewhere, we provide or support the relevant notice within the period required by law.
Please do not send passwords, PINs, full payment-card details or other highly sensitive information through an ordinary WhatsApp conversation.
3. How we use information
We use personal information where necessary to:
- Provide and support requested services.
- Route enquiries, bookings and support requests to the relevant business.
- Send service messages and marketing communications that the recipient has agreed to receive.
- Maintain customer records, consent evidence, prevent misuse and protect our systems.
- Understand service performance and improve the user experience.
- Meet legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.
4. Our legal grounds
We process information where it is necessary to take steps you request or perform a contract; where you have given valid consent; where we must comply with a legal obligation; or where we or a participating business has a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights. Legitimate interests may include operating, securing and improving the service, preventing misuse and responding to enquiries.
Contact details and service information may be necessary to answer an enquiry or provide a requested service. If they are not supplied, we may be unable to respond or complete that service. Marketing consent is optional and is not required for an unrelated service.
5. Businesses using Tripulse Connect
When you communicate with a business through Tripulse Connect, that business may decide why and how your information is used for its own customer relationship. Its own privacy notice may also apply. We process information to provide the platform and support that business, subject to agreed instructions and applicable law.
6. Service providers and international processing
We use technology and communications providers, including Twilio and WhatsApp/Meta, to provide messaging and related platform services. This involves sharing relevant contact, message, interaction and delivery information with those providers. Information may be processed in countries other than Botswana. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to assess the transfer and use an applicable legal transfer mechanism together with appropriate contractual, organisational and technical safeguards.
7. Retention and security
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this notice, to preserve consent or opt-out evidence, resolve disputes, maintain necessary records or meet legal obligations. We use proportionate access controls, monitoring and security measures, but no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed as completely secure.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, erase or receive a portable copy of your personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; or withdraw consent. You have an unconditional right to object to direct marketing, after which that marketing must stop. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out lawfully. You may opt out of WhatsApp promotional messages at any time by replying STOP or contacting the sender or our support channel. Reply HELP for assistance where that keyword is offered. You may also lodge a complaint with Botswana’s competent data protection Commission.
9. Automated decisions
We do not currently use information collected through this public website or Tripulse Connect to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects for an individual. If this changes, we will provide the information and choices required by law.
10. Children
Our business services are not intended for children to use without appropriate involvement from a parent, guardian or authorised organisation.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our services or legal obligations change. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
